A room count is a structure—not a duration.
A kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom does not contain a universal number of minutes. Use the same labels across comparable jobs, record actual person-hours, and revise one assumption when a pattern appears.

Why not price a cleaning job from square footage alone?+
Square footage can be one workload signal, but it does not show which rooms are included, their condition, add-on tasks, access, setup, or the difference between a first visit and recurring maintenance. This estimator starts with the selected scope and the operator’s own time assumptions.
What are person-hours?+
Person-hours add the working time of every crew member. Two cleaners working for two hours use four person-hours. Crew size can shorten elapsed onsite time, but it does not erase labor cost.
Where should the minutes come from?+
Use comparable completed-job records when available. Keep first visits, recurring work, materially different conditions, and different service types separate. Treat the prefilled numbers as an interface demonstration only.
Does this calculator tell me what to charge?+
No. It exposes one modeled cost and target planning floor from the assumptions entered. The operator still validates scope, taxes, wage and employment costs, market conditions, contracts, and the final price.
Does TidyMargin receive the numbers?+
